Pumpkin Pyre

The pumpkin pyre was lit behind the barn, where the jack-o'-lanterns meet their end.

We roast real pumpkins until the edges caramelize, then smoke ghost peppers over the same fire.

Finally, we stir in a touch of brown sugar and nutmeg.

Not a pie. A pyre.
